Verify Your Paypal Account Using Unionbank EON

After you’ve successfully applied for a Unionbank EON card and enrolling it with CyberAccount, let me guide you on how you can use it to verify your Paypal account. With this guide, you will also learn how to link your Paypal account to your Unionbank EON card for future withdrawals.

I have posted a guide before about another way for you to verify your Paypal account by using SmartMoney. If you don’t want to spend Php 550.00 (Php 350 for the EON card, Php 200 for the Paypal verification which would be refunded to you) for the whole Paypal verification using Unionbank EON, you can opt for the SmartMoney method. However, for your Paypal fund withdrawals, you will need or use Unionbank EON so you might as well get one and use it for verification AND withdrawals, right?

Why is it important to verify your Paypal account? Although you can receive unlimited amount of money, you won’t be able to use your Paypal funds to purchase online since most online stores accept payments from verified Paypal accounts only.

Alright, so, on to the guide about verification of your Paypal account using Unionbank EON card. Read on.

First of all, you have to deposit at least Php 150-200 to your Unionbank EON account for the Paypal account verification. Paypal will be charging your account $1.95 for this verification. Don’t worry because this amount will be refunded to your Paypal account afterwards.
Note: DO NOT continue with the verification unless you have deposited the said amount to your Unionbank EON account. Otherwise, the verification will fail.
Login to your Paypal account and click on the Get Verified link on the Account Overview page.
On the next page, fill up the form with your Unionbank EON card details. Then, click on Save and Continue button.
Now, wait for your 4-digit Expanded Use (EXPUSE) number to reflect on your Unionbank EON account. You can login to Unionbank CyberAccount and check your transaction history to check if your EXPUSE # is already there. It should be located next to the Paypal transaction entry in your account.You can also try calling Unionbank’s Customer Service and ask for your EXPUSE number. You can check their hotline # at the back of the card or call 84-186.
Once you have the number, go back to your Paypal account overview and click on Finish Expanded Use Enrollment. Usually, though, once you login, Paypal will prompt you with the screen where you should enter the 4-digit EXPUSE number.
After entering the EXPUSE number, Paypal will give you a confirmation that your debit/credit card has been verified and that’s it! Your account is already verified! Now, the liimts on how much you transfer or withdraw will be lifted and you can use it for online shopping!

How To Apply for Unionbank EON for Paypal Funds Withdrawal

I know that there are still a lot of Pinoys out there who are wondering how they can withdraw their Paypal funds that they’ve earned from making money online. If you’re an online money maker like me, having a Unionbank Visa Electron/EON card/account is a MUST.

I can assure you that having your own Unionbank EON Account/card gives you the most convenience (and savings) when withdrawing your Paypal funds. Why?

You can use your Unionbank EON card/account to verify your Paypal account.
No maintaining balance requirement (MBR) for an EON account. So, you can choose to withdraw all your money or leave some for your next withdrawal without worrying about any fees.
Unionbank doesn’t charge you any fees for withdrawing your money to your Paypal account, unlike other banks that charge you about Php 200.00 per Paypal transfer.
You can access your Unionbank EON account online through Unionbank’s CyberAccount.

Now, I hope I’ve already convinced you that you MUST get your own Unionbank EON card. By the way, you can even save more when making ATM withdrawals by linking your Unionbank EON account to your SmartMoney account. Details of that on my next post.

So, what do you need to do and how do you apply for a Unionbank EON account?

Application for a Unionbank EON Card

You need at least two (2) valid photo IDs and you need to photocopy them. I suggest bring 2 photocopies of your 2 photo IDs. They will keep the photocopies with them for their records.
You can submit any of the following valid IDs:
- Passport
- Current Driver’s License (accompanied by the OR when you applied for it)
- Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ID
- Major credit cards WITH photo
- Permit to Carry Firearms
- New or Laminated Social Security System (SSS) ID
- Tax Identification (TIN) Card
- Company ID
- Postal ID
- Voter’s ID
- Current School ID for students
- Senior Citizen Card
You need Php 350.00 to cover the Visa Electron/EON annual fee and card issuance.
If you’re going to use your Unionbank EON card to verify your Paypal account, I suggest you also bring the initial deposit of at least Php 200.00 that will be used for the verification process. Don’t worry, that amount will be refunded to you by Paypal once your account with them has been verified.
When I applied, they asked me for a 1×1 photo to go with my application. So, prepare this, too, to avoid any hassles.
Go to a Unionbank branch nearest you and fill up the application form for the Visa Electron/EON card.
Ask for their contact number so you can call them to follow up on your card.
Wait for 7 to 14 banking days for processing. I suggest you ask the bank how soon you can get your EON card.
Before going to the bank to pickup the card, call the branch first and ask if your card is already available for pickup.
When you pickup your EON card, ask the bank when it will be activated so you can change the PIN. By the way, along with the EON card, you’ll also be handed a sealed paper that contains your 4-digit PIN.
Once your EON card is activated (usually it takes about 24 hours), go to the nearest Unionbank ATM and change your PIN. Please make sure you memorize it, okay?

That’s it. Now you’re ready to withdraw your Paypal funds to your Unionbank EON card. I suggest you enroll your EON account to Unionbank’s CyberAccount so you can check your balances or even transfer funds without going to an ATM or the bank.

Enroll your Unionbank EON Card to CyberAccount
Once you receive your Unionbank EON card, it’s highly advisable that you enroll it to CyberAccount so you can check your account online. Here’s how:

Go to Unionbank’s website: http://www.unionbankph.com/
Click on EON Cyber Account under “Access your account here”. A new window should popup so make sure your popup blocker is off or not blocking it.
On the new window, click on ENROLL HERE under “Start banking online with your EON!”.
On the next page, you’ll be asked for your ATM card number and PIN number.
On the next screen, simply fill up the form completely with your desired EON CyberAccount username/login and password.
Wait for 2 to 4 banking days for your EON CyberAccount to be activated. Check your email or try logging into the CyberAccount page to check.

How to Get your Paypal Account Verified

After signing up for your own Paypal account, let me show you how you can verify it.

First, let me explain to you why you would want to get your Paypal account verified. The MAIN reason is Paypal sets initial limits on the amount of money you can send, receive and withdraw from your Paypal account. Once your account is verified, those limits are lifted and you won’t have to worry about that for a very long time.

Reminder: You must be 18 years and older to sign up for a Paypal account. However, if you really want to try this out, you can create an account under your sibling or parents’ name, but ask them for permission first, okay? There’s no limit on how much you can receive but there’s a limit on how much you can send and transfer from Paypal. If you want to verify your Paypal account, the whole verification process involves a debit or credit card (Unionbank EON or SmartMoney for Pinoys), you can just ask your sibling or parent if they can open an account or if you can use their card for the verification. Anyway, it’s just $1.95 charge for the verification, which will be refunded afterwards.

Note: You might be asked by Paypal to setup 2 security questions before you can proceed to the verification process. Make sure you take note of your answers as they’re VERY important.

For this verification process, you will need:

A debit or credit card under YOUR name
For Pinoys, we can actually use a Unionbank EON Card or SmartMoney to verify our Paypal accounts. Read my guides here for Unionbank EON card and here for SmartMoney.
At least $1.95 available balance on your debit or credit card.
Paypal will be charging you this amount for verification but they will refund it to you after your card or account has been confirmed. Take note that the $1.95 won’t go back to your debit or credit card but it will show up on your Paypal balance once your account is verified.

The Verification Process

Reminder, Paypal will be charging your account $1.95 for this verification. Don’t worry because this amount will be refunded to your Paypal account afterwards.
Note: DO NOT continue with the verification otherwise, the verification will fail.
Login to your Paypal account and click on the Get Verified link on the Account Overview page.
You should see this screen where you would enter your debit or credit card information.
Again, make sure all the information you enter are accurate.

Click on Save and Continue. Your account will then be charged $1.95 by Paypal.
Now, here’s the hard part. If you used a credit or debit card, you have to check your bank statement or billing statement that will be mailed to you OR if you can check it online, that would be BETTER!You can also try to call your debit/credit card issuing bank’s Customer Service/Billing department and ask them for the 4-digit EXP (expanded) use code for Paypal so you won’t have to wait too long for that.
If you can access your bank or billing statement online, then, just look for that 4-digit EXP code that’s linked to the $1.95 charge on your account. It usually starts with 4 digits followed with PAYPAL. Take note of that 4-digit code.
Now, once you have that EXPUSE 4-digit code, go back to Paypal and confirm your card by entering that 4-digit code. Once done, your Paypal account is verified! Woohoo!!

How to Sign Up for a Paypal Account

To those of you who don’t have a Paypal‘ account yet, I know that it might be confusing for you how it should be done or you’re just unsure how, especially when you’re creating an account for making money online. Some of you might even have this notion that you cannot sign up for a Paypal account WITHOUT a credit card. But, fortunately, that’s not true. You can sign up for a Paypal account WITHOUT a credit card. That’s just optional. Read on.

Here’s a guide to help you create that Paypal account and start earning!

Reminder: You must be 18 years and older to sign up for a Paypal account. However, if you really want to try this out, you can create an account under your sibling or parents’ name, but ask them for permission first, okay? There’s no limit on how much you can receive but there’s a limit on how much you can send and transfer from Paypal. If you want to verify your Paypal account, the whole verification process involves a debit or credit card (Unionbank EON or SmartMoney for Pinoys), you can just ask your sibling or parent if they can open an account or if you can use their card for the verification. Anyway, it’s just $1.95 charge for the verification, which will be refunded afterwards.

Go to Paypal‘s website and click on the Sign Up button.
You will be directed to a page like the one below. Now, select your country or region.
Select the RIGHT country and don’t make it up or else you’ll have problems with your account.

Once you’ve selected your country, the page will update and will give you the types of accounts that you can sign up for.
Remember that Paypal is not available in all countries and some countries have limitations on what type of account you can sign up for.

Now, for making money online, all you need is just a Personal Paypal account so click on Get Started button under Personal.
On the next page, you’ll be given a form that you need to COMPLETELY fill up.
Make sure you only enter ACCURATE information. You must enter your complete address, and even your phone number. Don’t worry, Paypal won’t really use your phone # unless there’s a problem with your account. Usually, they do it through email.
On the following page, you’ll be asked to enter your credit card information. You don’t have to enter your credit card information! Simply click on the Go to My Account link at the bottom-left part of the screen, as illustrated below:

That’s it! Now you have your own Paypal account that you can use when you sign up with any of my Recommended PTC sites (that pay through Paypal) or my other money-making programs.

IMPORTANT NOTE: You would need to get your Paypal account verified so you won’t have to worry about limits on how much you send, receive and withdraw from your account. For the guide on how to do this, How to Get your Paypal Account Verified
